The essence of Zen is to encourage the seeker to arrive at the gates of Enlightenment immediately through the breaking of all barriers fomented by philosophizing and intellectualism. Abraham Lincoln, though he might not have been aware, was a very advanced soul in the spiritual realm, and it is no surprise that he accomplished so much in the four years that he was president from 1861-1864.
He permanently abolished slavery and also he shall forever remain in the American history as the only president that was able to eliminate the burden of national debt by the implementation of his concept of the Greenbacks. Below is a joke he once made that, if you see beyond the lines, you will recognize some miniature essence of spiritual awakening disguised in laughter. This is because we fail to attain higher realization because of our error in labeling everything, yet there is that essence of Nature that is beyond word and language. Enjoy.
Abraham Lincoln once asked one of his secretaries, “If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does a horse have?”
“Five,” replied the secretary.
“No,” said the President, “The answer is four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg!”
Wow! Thats so perfect! The last lines…. if people understand even that, they would set themselves on path of peace and realisation!

Haha thanks for that great subtle compliment. I retire on the weekends, just like any other religion demands, and thence responds to comments only, while reading my friend’s work like yours.

But is God laughing WITH us, or AT us?

At us. He always does, but compassionately, bearing in mind how much selfish we are that we lack time to truly worship Him in the proper way.

Small thing to ask from one who made the universe in a day….

In fact he made it in a second, not a day.
